I met Susana Byers three years ago when I saw her for a blocked tear duct. I was told by my two different ophthalmologist that the only solution was to have surgery. The surgery would entail breaking open the side of my nose and cutting my tear duct, and running a tube through my nose. The surgeons who gave me this diagnosis explained to me that if the surgery did not work the first time they would break my nose again and repeat the surgery. I later learned that this surgery can be preformed several times breaking the nose each time and having cosmetic surgery afterwards. I only saw Susana for three sessions and she used subcutaneous stimulation and herbs after the three sessions my tear duct was unclogged.
I recommend Susana Byers as she saved me from a near tragedy of having many operations that would not necessarily cure my illness.

I had never received an acupuncture treatment in my life and I was nervous at my first meeting with Susana Byers. I didn’t come to her with any particular aliment, I mostly wanted to try it out and see if it was for me. Susana quickly put me at ease with her kind demeanor, her incredible knowledge of human anatomy and her ability to articulate how the treatment would relate to my body.
As she started putting needles in my back I was surprised how I could barely feel the “pinch” of them but even more surprised at the electric sort of feeling that came from them. When Susana got to my hips(a place where I have had problems in the past) the feeling was large and round and intense but she talked me through it and I was soon asleep on the table. For weeks following that first session my hips felt like they had let go of tension I didn’t even know I was holding.
I have continued to see Susana and I have felt that many areas of my health and wellbeing have benefited greatly from her amazing knowledge, skill and talent as an Acupuncturist.

As a person who is always on the go, I truly appreciate that each session with Susana brought me to a point of absolute relaxation. Every time I walked into her treatment room, she was incredibly tuned in to what my body needed that day, and the unique way in which to treat me.
I scheduled sessions with Susana before, during, and after my recent fertility treatment. I was absolutely thrilled that I went through the entire procedure without extreme side effects! Even the nurses at the clinic were shocked at how responsive my body was to treatment, and how quickly I was able to re-set myself back on to my natural rhythms. This is a testimonial for Susana Byers, Acupuncturist and Herbalist. I have been receiving occasional acupuncture and traditional chinese treatments for over 30 years in New York City, San Francisco and here in the Valley. After two treatments by Susana , I rank her in the top of the list of practitioners I have seen.
She offered comprehensive sessions involving needling, moxabustion, an herbal linament, and a form ofchinese massage. Her needling technique is very light and several times I wasn’t sure if she had inserted a needle or not. She was quick at reading pulses and kept up a commentary on what she was doing. She worked on several specific complaints I had, and was able in one session to alleviate some significant pain in my right shoulder.
Susana is very engaged in her work. We are lucky to have her here in the Valley.

I recently had an appointment with Susana for treatment of some seasonal allergies that were really bothering me. I walked into her office after suffering for several days of itchy eyes, stuffy nose and a dry raspy cough. I was leaving in a couple days for some business training and wanted to make sure I felt the best I could during that time.
I went to Susana and she took the time to listen to me and my complaints about my allergies which allowed her to formulate the proper acupuncture treatments, which included acupuncture, fire cupping and a Chinese herbal tea.
I have had acupuncture treatments in the past, but all of them were a style where no needles were inserted, so this was my first time being treated where needles would be actually inserted into my skin.
I have to say the process was very natural, not painful and actually relaxing. Even better is that I walked out of her office with a completely clear head and very few symptoms of my allergies remaining.

I want to thank you so much for helping out my mother. My mother had constantly been complaining of severe pain due to arthritis. She was avoiding going out to do errands and seeing friends because she was in so much pain. After seeing you, she has had far less pain. After receiving acupuncture on her knee, she told me that she felt SO much better and also she felt very relaxed. She said her whole body felt better after seeing you. That was the fist time in months that I heard her say that her knee felt better and I don’t know when I have ever heard her say she felt relaxed! It means so much to me that you helped my mother feel better.
In addition to helping my mother, you helped me. I was having severe back spasms and all you did was poke a needle in the right spot. I felt a “pop” and the pain diminished. That was amazing.

Yesterday I went to Susana for a session and was so happy to discover that she is well skilled and quite knowledgeable about the art. For the past three months, I was experiencing a great deal of pain in my right heel due to plantar fasciitis. The pain and discomfort caused me to severely restrict my exercise program of running and brisk walking. I have seen a podiatrist in the past and was prescribed orthotics.
